River & Rail

River & Rail is an Indie Folk/Americana duo from Nashville, Tennessee, formed by married couple Grace and Alex Fincher. They met in 2019 in Columbia, Missouri, and after collaborating on songwriting, their friendship blossomed into a relationship, culminating in their wedding in 2021. Shortly after, they moved to Nashville and began releasing music under the name River & Rail, debuting with the single "Lady of the Canyon" in 2022. Grace’s voice is noted for being both haunting and agile, drawing listeners in with her poignant songwriting, while Alex complements her with melodic acoustic guitar, mandolin, and plaintive backing vocals. Their sound is rich yet intimate, embracing dynamics, nuanced musical embellishments, and inventive arrangements .

The duo has steadily built a following with several releases including "Steam Engine," "Time Flows," "Down," and "Pretty Paper," among others. They are preparing to release their debut album in late 2025 through Imagine House Records, distributed by Vere Music/ADA. Alongside their recording work, River & Rail has toured the Midwest with The Arcadian Wild and continue to engage audiences with their rootsy yet fresh musical style .
