Luiz Caldas
Luiz Caldas is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his fusion of samba, reggae, and funk. Born in Salvador, Bahia, in 1948, Caldas began his career in the 1970s, blending traditional Brazilian rhythms with modern influences. His breakthrough came with the hit song "Fricote" in 1975, which became a national sensation and helped popularize the genre known as "axé music." Caldas has continued to release successful albums and singles throughout his career, earning him recognition as one of the pioneers of Brazilian popular music.
