Sundara Karma

Sundara Karma is an English indie pop band originating from Reading, Berkshire, formed in 2011. Comprising Oscar Pollock (lead vocals, guitar), Ally Baty (guitar), Dom Cordell (bass), and Haydn Evans (drums), the band has distinguished themselves in the indie music scene with their rich, anthemic sound and philosophical lyrics. Their name, 'Sundara Karma', carries a deep resonance, taken from Sanskrit words that mean "beautiful" (sundara) and "action" (karma), hinting at the band's inclination towards infusing their music with a sense of deeper meaning.

The band released their debut album, "Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect," in 2017, to critical acclaim and a warm reception from indie pop enthusiasts. They solidified their unique sound with a nostalgic yet fresh twist on classic indie rock. This was followed by "Ulfilas' Alphabet" in 2019, an album where they showcased artistic growth and experimentation with more diverse sonic textures. Sundara Karma's discography is marked by soaring choruses and thought-provoking themes, with tracks like "She Said" and "Explore" that have resonated with a generation. Their string of recent releases, including "Kill Me," "Godsend," and "Better Luck Next Time," continues to chart their evolution as a band unafraid to delve into the existential while keeping their melodies irresistibly catchy.
