The Chords UK

**The Chords UK** are the vibrant revival of the classic British mod-punk band The Chords, formed in 2013 by original guitarist and main songwriter Chris Pope to keep those killer '70s and '80s vibes alive on stage and in the studio. Pope, who penned hits like "Now It's Gone," "Something's Missing," and "Maybe Tomorrow" back in the day, teamed up with original drummer Brett Ascott early on, later adding bassist Sandy Michie, and they've been rocking fresh takes on old classics plus new tracks ever since—dropping albums like *Take on Life* (2016), *Nowhere Land* (2018), and *Big City Dreams* (2022), alongside singles such as "So Far Away (Reimagined)," "Two Weeks In Heaven," and "Something's Missing."

This crew stays true to the mod revival spirit that powered the original Chords' chart success in 1979-80, gigging regularly in the UK while Pope channels that punk energy from his South East London roots—now with a modern twist on tunes that still pack a punch.
