Colm Wilkinson is an Irish tenor and actor best known for his powerful vocals and commanding stage presence. Born in Dublin in 1944, he began his career in the 1970s, performing in various musicals and operas. Wilkinson's breakthrough role came in 1985 when he originated the role of Jean Valjean in the original London production of "Les Misérables." His performance earned him critical acclaim and established him as one of the leading musical theater performers of his generation. Since then, Wilkinson has starred in numerous other musicals, including "The Phantom of the Opera," "Sweeney Todd," and "Chess." He has also released several solo albums and toured extensively worldwide.
