HELLYEAH is an American heavy metal supergroup formed in Dallas, Texas in 2006. The band's pedigree is impressive, featuring members with significant histories in the metal genre: vocalist Chad Gray, known for being the frontman of Mudvayne; guitarist Tom Maxwell from Nothingface; bassist Kyle Sanders; guitarist Christian Brady; and revered former Pantera and Damageplan drummer, the late Vinnie Paul Abbott, until his passing in 2018. HELLYEAH's music is a potent cocktail of groovy, hard-hitting metal laced with a Southern rock influence that reflects the member's varied backgrounds and styles. Their sound is characterized by bombastic riffs, pummeling drum work, and visceral, melodic vocals.
Over the years, HELLYEAH has solidified their position in the metal community with a series of raw, powerful records that balance aggression with melody. Their recent album "Welcome Home," which includes tracks like "333" and "Oh My God," continues to deliver on their signature sound while serving as a tribute to Vinnie Paul, whose drumming remains on the release. The band's passion and resilience shine through in their live performances, as captured on tracks like "Hush (Live)" and "Moth (Live)." With "Welcome Home," HELLYEAH not only remembers the contributions of their late bandmate but also reaffirms their commitment to move forward and continue creating blistering metal music for their dedicated fanbase.
