TKA
TKA is a Latin freestyle and dance-pop trio that rose to prominence in the 1980s as one of the genre's most popular and influential acts. Originally hailing from New York City, the group is best known for their energetic performances and dancefloor-ready hits like “Maria,” “Come Get My Love,” and “Louder Than Love.” TKA was at the forefront of the freestyle movement, blending elements of Latin rhythms, R&B, and electronic beats to help define the sound of freestyle music during its golden era.
The original lineup included members Tony Ortiz, Louis “Kayel” Sharpe (aka K7), and Angel “Love” Vasquez. Kayel later gained solo success with his hit “Come Baby Come” under the name K7. Over the years, TKA has continued to tour and release new material, maintaining a devoted fanbase and introducing their signature sound to new generations. Their more recent songs, like “Living In The 1980’s” and “Slipping Through My Hands,” show that their passion for music and freestyle flair is still going strong.
