Skiltron

Skiltron is an Argentinian power/folk metal band that has carved out a unique niche within the heavy metal scene by blending the thunderous force of metal with traditional Celtic music. Formed in 2004 by Emilio Souto, Skiltron quickly distinguished themselves with their bagpipe-laden riffs and a fierce homage to Scottish history and culture. With lyrics often focused on tales of battles and valor, their music emphasizes the spirit of the clans they celebrate. Their sound is characterized by the potent combination of electric guitar and traditional folk instruments, such as bagpipes, tin whistles, and bodhráns, which provides a distinctive energetic and medieval feel to their compositions.

Over the years, Skiltron has released a steady stream of albums that have solidified their status in the folk metal community. "The Clans Have United" (2006) was their debut full-length release, followed by 'Beheading the Liars' (2008), 'The Highland Way' (2010), which continued to build upon their thematic and musical foundations. With subsequent albums like 'Into the Battleground' (2013) and 'Legacy of Blood' (2016), Skiltron consistently delivered anthemic melodies and robust metal with a cultural edge. The release of 'Legacy Of Blood (bonus track edition)' and 'Demos & Unreleased Tracks' provided fans with additional content that demonstrated the breadth of the band's creative process. Skiltron’s reputation for energetic live performances was further cemented by their ‘Live at Wacken 2018’ album, capturing their raw onstage power and connection with audiences. The single "As We Fight" and their rendition of "The Final Countdown" showcase their ongoing evolution and ability to blend iconic metal sounds within their unique stylistic approach.
