Swazönd

Swazönd is a black metal band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in early 2019. The band consists of Jharrod on vocals, Shohei Asai on guitars, Kanako on bass, and Thom "Skuld" on drums. Shohei is also involved with other bands like Lifeblood and Sungoddess, while Kanako is part of Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation, and Thom has been part of several bands including Amputee and Worship Pain. Swazönd's music often explores themes of ecological destruction, inequality, and existential pessimism, with some songs inspired by horror movies. Their notable releases include a demo in 2020 and the full-length album "Cursed Inheritance," which was released through Zero Dimensional Records.

Swazönd's sound blends elements of black metal and crust, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of its members within the Tokyo underground scene. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the band has managed to perform live and is looking forward to more shows.
