Moon Duo is an American psychedelic rock band formed in San Francisco in 2009. The group is a project started by Wooden Shjips guitarist Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada. Their musical style intertwines elements of psych rock, space rock, and alternative sounds, known for creating a broad palette of sonic landscapes that transport listeners through hypnotic and mesmeric musical trails. Moon Duo's compositions are marked by repetitive, driving rhythms and immersive, looping melodies, often incorporating electronic textures alongside traditional rock instrumentation.
