Cardamomo is an instrumental trio from Porto Alegre, Brazil, consisting of Guilherme Boll on drums, Joni Oliveira on bass, and Marcelo Henkin on guitar. Formed in late 2018, they quickly gained momentum with their first EP in 2019 and a notable performance at the Festival Morrostock. In 2020, they released their debut album, "Nada a Fazer," which was recognized as one of the top 20 Brazilian albums of that year by Minuto Indie. The band's sound blends genres like rock, indie, post-punk, post-rock, and math-rock, showcasing their versatility and experimentation with different musical tools.
In recent years, Cardamomo has continued to evolve, releasing "ao vivo no agulha" in 2023, a live recording from a show in Porto Alegre. Later that year, they launched their second studio album, "Meridiano," which was funded through a successful crowdfunding project in 2021. This album features singles like "Acelerado," "Farol," and "Woo Pt. 2," with a more polished hi-fi sound compared to their earlier work. The band's music is characterized by its eclectic mix of styles, reflecting their commitment to creating a unique sonic identity.
