Interbellum

Interbellum is a musical project led by Lebanese singer-songwriter Karl Mattar. The project combines elements of folk, noise pop, garage rock, and ambient music to create a unique sound. Interbellum's recent album, *Our House Is Very Beautiful at Night*, explores themes of intergenerational trauma and memory through a blend of acoustic folk, fuzzy psychedelia, melodic pop rock, ambient passages, and experimental sound pieces. This album delves into the personal and historical narratives of Lebanon, casting intimate trauma as a reflection of the country's cycles of violence.

Interbellum's music often touches on themes of time, memory, and the past, weaving together personal experiences with broader cultural contexts. With a diverse range of releases, including *Partners*, *Dead Pets, Old Griefs*, and *Ink*, Interbellum continues to evolve and explore different musical landscapes.
