Crumb is an American indie-psych band that has been enchanting its audience with its enigmatic and dream-like sonic landscapes since its formation. The quartet emerged out of the vibrant music scene of Boston, Massachusetts, but now based in Brooklyn, New York. The band members—Lila Ramani (vocals, guitar), Jesse Brotter (bass), Brian Aronow (synth, keys, saxophone), and Jonathan Gilad (drums)—met while attending Tufts University, and shared a mutual appreciation for the melding of psychedelic pop with jazz-like improvisation and a laid-back groove.
With their self-released debut project, a 2016 self-titled EP "Crumb," and the 2017 follow-up "Locket," the group quickly garnered an enthusiastic following, thanks to their swirling, hypnotic rhythms and Ramani's ethereal vocals. The full-length albums "Jinx," released in 2019, and "Ice Melt," which dropped in 2021, solidified their presence on the indie scene, displaying a profound growth in their sound—an evocative mix of surreal lyrics and immersive soundscapes. Crumb's music showcases a distinctive flair for lush production and introspective songwriting, as seen in evocative tracks like "Le Temple Volant," "Dust Bunny," and "Crushxd." Their work is a testament to their ability to craft a unique auditory experience, and their recent releases continually exemplify their evolution as eclectic and innovative musicians.
