Dan Berglund
Dan Berglund is a Swedish jazz bassist best known for his work with the acclaimed Esbjörn Svensson Trio, often abbreviated as e.s.t. Alongside pianist Esbjörn Svensson and drummer Magnus Öström, Berglund helped redefine the modern jazz landscape with a unique blend of jazz, rock, and electronic influences. The trio gained international recognition for their energetic live performances and genre-defying albums, including Tuesday Wonderland and Seven Days of Falling.
After the untimely passing of Svensson in 2008, Berglund continued to explore innovative musical directions. He went on to form the band Tonbruket, which further expanded his fusion of jazz with elements of rock and progressive music. Whether performing with e.s.t., Tonbruket, or in collaborative projects like Rymden and Trialogue, Dan Berglund remains a powerful creative force in contemporary European jazz.
