Gregory Wolynec is an accomplished American conductor, renowned for his dynamic and captivating performances with the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, which he founded in 2008. His work with GCO has been widely recognized, including a GRAMMY award-winning recording for classical producer Blanton Alspaugh. Wolynec's focus on innovative programming and engaging community initiatives has made the GCO a model for orchestral excellence. He has also been praised for his interpretations of classical works by leading composers and has collaborated with international soloists.
A dedicated educator, Wolynec holds degrees from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music and Michigan State University. He previously led ensembles at Austin Peay State University and has been involved in other musical initiatives such as the America's Haydn Festival and the Sounds of Home Chorus. His recent appointments include serving as the Director of Orchestral Activities at The University of Southern Mississippi.
