Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom is the moniker of Peter Kember, a British musician and producer, who has remained a seminal figure in the alternative and experimental music scene since the 1980s. He first rose to prominence as a founding member of the influential space rock band Spacemen 3, alongside Jason Pierce (Spiritualized). Following the dissolution of Spacemen 3 in the late 1980s, Kember embarked on a solo career as Sonic Boom, exploring the boundaries of electronic music, drone, and psychedelia with his unique approach to composition and production.

Throughout his solo career, Sonic Boom has released a number of critically acclaimed albums and has been involved in various collaborations and remix projects, showcasing his versatility and innovative use of sound. Notable works include "Spectrum," "Soul Kiss (Glide Divine)," and more recently, projects such as "Reset," "Edge of the Edge," and a variety of remixes such as "Velvet Reality (Sonic Boom Remix)" and "Whirlpool Dub (Adrian Sherwood 'Reset In Dub' Version)." His work, deeply rooted in experimental techniques and an exploratory spirit, has influenced many artists across different musical genres, making him a pivotal figure in the broader landscape of contemporary music. Sonic Boom's enduring legacy is not just as a musician, but as a sonic architect who has consistently pushed the limits of sound and perception.
