Born in 1989 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, she rose to international prominence after winning first prize at the 2009 Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in Finland. Lezhneva has worked with renowned orchestras and conductors, including Marc Minkowski and Giovanni Antonini, and has become a standout interpreter of composers like Vivaldi, Handel, Porpora, and Mozart.
