**Vitreous Humor** was a ’90s indie rock band hailing from Lawrence, Kansas, known for their raw, jangly sound and ties to the Midwest emo scene. Formed in the early ’90s, the band included members Danny Black (vocals/guitar), Brad Allen (guitar), Kirk Barnett (bass), and Danny Pound (drums). They gained a cult following after releasing their self-titled EP in 1995 on Crank! Records, a label synonymous with the era’s underground rock energy. Though short-lived, their music blended urgent, melodic guitar work with introspective lyrics, capturing the DIY spirit of the time.
After disbanding in 1997, their legacy lived on through posthumous releases like *Posthumous* (1999), which compiled unreleased tracks, and live recordings such as *Live at Fireside Bowl*, showcasing their scrappy, energetic performances. Members later joined or formed other notable projects, including The Anniversary. While they never reached mainstream fame, Vitreous Humor remains a cherished footnote in indie rock history, celebrated for their earnest, unfiltered contributions to the genre.
