Yufu

Yufu is a Taiwanese-Japanese soul and funk musician deeply inspired by the classic American 1970s soul sound. Based between Taiwan and Japan, he is recognized as one of the rare Asian artists who craft original vintage-style soul music, paying homage to legends like Curtis Mayfield, Barry White, and Marvin Gaye. He began playing music at a young age, initially influenced by his family's love for Western music and 70s classics such as the Bee Gees and ABBA. Over the years, Yufu has developed a unique style blending rich soul-infused production with heartfelt storytelling, evident in his debut album "Heal Me Good," released in early 2025. This album explores themes of love, healing, and addiction through a warm, retro sound full of funky riffs and soulful grooves, capturing the emotional depth of classic soul while adding his own modern touch.

Before fully embracing soul music, Yufu experimented with psychedelic and vintage sounds in bands like General Vinyl and CROCODELIA. His music career includes performing at major Taiwanese music festivals and building a strong following through digital platforms, with singles like "Honey If You’re Extra" gaining significant streams in Europe. Known for his raspy vocals and multi-instrumental talents on guitar, flute, and percussion, Yufu aims to revive classic soul’s warmth and honest emotion for contemporary audiences worldwide, planning to tour and bring his soulful live shows to more fans soon.
