Inara George

Inara George is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for her ethereal vocal quality and insightful, poetic songwriting. Born on July 4, 1974, she is the daughter of Lowell George, the late founder of the pioneering rock band Little Feat, a legacy that imbued her with a deep sense of musicality from a young age. George launched her solo career in the early 2000s after the dissolution of her band Lode, gaining attention with her debut album "All Rise" in 2005. Her work often weaves personal narrative with broader existential musings, resulting in a catalog that is both introspective and universally resonant.

Inara George is perhaps equally well-known as one-half of The Bird and the Bee, an indie pop duo she formed with multi-instrumentalist and producer Greg Kurstin. The pair has garnered critical acclaim for their sophisticated pop tunes and innovative covers, with George's voice serving as a distinctive centerpiece. Alongside her projects, Inara has shown a versatile range and an ability to collaborate across genres, as evidenced by her most recent releases including the contemplative "What Keeps You Up At Night," the poignant "Dearest Everybody," and eclectic forays like "Sex in Cars: Road Angel Project." George's body of work reflects a rare balance of delicacy and strength, maintaining a clear vision of her artistic identity while continuing to explore and evolve as an artist.
