Uzeb

Uzeb was a Canadian jazz-fusion band that gained prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s, renowned for their intricate musicianship and blend of jazz, funk, and rock elements. The band was founded in 1976 in Montreal, Quebec, by guitarist Michel Cusson, bassist Alain Caron, and drummer Paul Brochu, three musicians whose synergy and virtuosity quickly propelled them to international acclaim. Throughout their career, Uzeb released a series of albums that pushed the boundaries of jazz fusion, characterized by technical precision, complex compositions, and an energetic live performance style.

Though the band disbanded in 1992 after the release of their live album "World Tour 90 (Live)," they left behind a rich discography including notable works such as "UZEB Club," "Noisy Nights," and "Fast Emotion." Their influence was felt worldwide, earning them awards like the Oscar Peterson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and establishing them as one of the most respected ensembles in their genre. Their work remains a benchmark for fusion enthusiasts, and their legacy was celebrated with the release of "Reunion Live," a recording capturing one of their reunion performances, demonstrating their enduring rapport and musical dynamism even after years apart.
