Alexander Ffinch

Alexander Ffinch is a **virtuoso concert organist** who studied at the Royal College of Music and later became an organ scholar at Keble College, Oxford, where he studied under the renowned Thomas Trotter. He served as resident organist at Lancaster Town Hall in the 1990s, giving over 100 recitals, and gained recognition by winning the St Albans Interpretation Competition in 1999. Since then, he's performed extensively across the UK, Europe, USA, and Asia, establishing himself as one of the leading voices in contemporary organ music.

In 2004, Ffinch was appointed College Organist of Cheltenham College, where he oversees the daily organ playing in the College Chapel and directs choirs. He oversaw a complete rebuild of the Cheltenham College organ by Harrison and Harrison in 2017, which became the subject of his acclaimed debut album *Transformations* (2019). Known for his adventurous approach to repertoire, Ffinch has earned widespread praise for blending classical masterworks with unexpected contemporary pieces—from arranging Coldplay's "Paradise" to creating fresh takes on beloved classics. His more recent album *Parallels* (2024) and *Expectations* (2026) continue to showcase his innovative spirit, featuring everything from Holst and Elgar to Saint-Saëns, proving that the organ is far more versatile than many realize.
