The Voidz

The Voidz, sometimes stylized as Julian Casablancas+The Voidz, is an American rock band formed in 2013. Serving as the brainchild of The Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas, The Voidz were brought together with the intention to explore broader musical landscapes that diverge from The Strokes' signature sound. Alongside Casablancas, the band is comprised of a group of eclectic musicians: Jeramy "Beardo" Gritter on guitar, Amir Yaghmai on guitar, Jacob "Jake" Bercovici on bass and synthesizers, Alex Carapetis on drums, and Jeff Kite on keyboards. Their artistic experimentation traverses various genres including but not limited to rock, experimental, electronic, and new wave influences that stand as a testament to their avant-garde approach to music.

Their debut album, "Tyranny," released in 2014, was a sonic journey showcasing their penchant for unconventional structures and politically charged lyrics. The band’s follow-up album, "Virtue," released in 2018, further solidified their place in the alternative music scene with its fusion of accessible melodies and adventurous sonic experimentation. With recent singles like "The Eternal Tao 2.0," "Alien Crime Lord," and "Did My Best," The Voidz continue to push the boundaries of modern rock music, carving out a distinctive niche that both challenges and captivates listeners with its raw and enigmatic edge. Their dynamic and forward-thinking approach ensures The Voidz remain an intriguing fixture in the contemporary alternative music landscape.
