Carnifex

Carnifex is an American deathcore band that hails from San Diego, California. Formed in 2005, the band quickly became known for its intensely brutal sound, dark lyrical content, and relentless energy. With Scott Ian Lewis on vocals, Cory Arford and Jordan Lockrey on guitars, Fred Calderon on bass, and Shawn Cameron on drums, Carnifex carved out a niche within the heavy metal community that embraced the bleakness and aggression of their music. The band's name itself, derived from the Latin word for "executioner," sets the tone for the kind of ferocious and unapologetic soundscapes they create.

Over the years, Carnifex has released several albums that have solidified their status in the extreme metal genre. "Dead in My Arms" in 2007 marked the bracing start of their discography, but it was later works such as "Die Without Hope" (2014), "Slow Death" (2016), and "World War X" (2019) that showcased their evolving musicianship and thematic exploration of existential despair and mortality. Their most recent releases, including the searing single "Pray For Peace" and the reflective "GRAVESIDE CONFESSIONS" from 2021, continue to push the boundaries of deathcore, offering fans a raw and unfiltered glimpse into the abyss through their distinctive lens of sonic extremity. Despite lineup changes and the evolving music industry, Carnifex's unwavering dedication to their art ensures they remain a formidable presence in the world of heavy music.
