Amanda Portales Sotelo is a renowned Peruvian singer, author, composer, and performer of Peruvian folklore, particularly known for her contributions to the Andean culture. Born on July 7, 1961, in Lima, Peru, she began her career at a very young age. Her mother, Irene del Centro, is celebrated as the "Dama Elegante del Folklore," and her father, Lucio Portales, was a violinist and orchestra director. Amanda has been active in the music scene since 1965 and is often referred to as "La Novia del Perú" (The Bride of Peru), a nickname given to her by Antonio Muñoz Monge in 1984. She has performed in numerous countries and has released several albums, including "Rosa Hermosa," "Viva la Vida," "Bodas de Perla," and "Tradición Wanka."

Amanda Portales is not only a talented artist but also a cultural promoter. She has been recognized for her contributions to Peruvian folklore and was awarded the Order of Merit for Distinguished Services by the Peruvian government in 2006. Her recent releases include "Maria," "Ven Mi Amor," "Amanda Amando," and "Primero lo Nuestro," showcasing her enduring presence in the music scene.
