Lisa della Casa was a renowned Swiss soprano, celebrated for her interpretations of Mozart and Richard Strauss. Born in 1919, she gained international fame for her radiant voice, elegance, and artistry, particularly in roles like the Countess in *Le nozze di Figaro* and Arabella in Strauss’s *Arabella*. She was a regular presence at major opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera and the Metropolitan Opera, earning admiration for her vocal purity and refined stage presence. After a successful career, she retired in the early 1970s, leaving behind a legacy of exquisite recordings that continue to captivate opera lovers today.
