Richard Rogers

Richard Rogers was an American composer and lyricist who wrote some of the most beloved and enduring songs in the Great American Songbook. Born in 1902, Rogers began his career as a Broadway composer in the 1920s, collaborating with lyricist Lorenz Hart on a string of hit musicals including "Pal Joey" and "On Your Toes." After Hart's death in 1943, Rogers teamed up with Oscar Hammerstein II to create some of the most iconic musicals of all time, including "Oklahoma!," "South Pacific," and "The Sound of Music." Rogers's songs are known for their beautiful melodies, clever lyrics, and timeless appeal, and they continue to be performed and enjoyed by audiences around the world.
