Richard Rogers was an American composer and lyricist who wrote some of the most beloved and enduring songs in the Great American Songbook. Born in 1902, Rogers began his career as a Broadway composer in the 1920s, collaborating with lyricist Lorenz Hart on a string of hit musicals including "Pal Joey" and "On Your Toes."
