Jimmy Fortune is an American country and gospel singer-songwriter best known as a longtime member of the legendary vocal group The Statler Brothers. He joined the group in 1982, replacing founding member Lew DeWitt, and went on to write several of their hit songs, including the fan-favorite "Elizabeth." With his smooth tenor voice and heartfelt songwriting, Fortune became a staple in the group's success throughout the 1980s and 1990s until the Statler Brothers retired in 2002.
