Sergio Assad is a Brazilian guitarist, composer, and arranger widely celebrated for his contributions to classical guitar music, both as a solo artist and as half of the renowned Assad Brothers guitar duo with his brother Odair Assad. Born in São João da Boa Vista, Brazil, in 1952, Sergio showed musical promise from a young age and studied guitar under Monina Távora, a student of Andrés Segovia. He has since become known for his intricate compositions and arrangements that blend classical, Latin, and Brazilian influences.
