Darkspace

Darkspace is an enigmatic Swiss band that thrives in the exploration of the furthest reaches of ambient black metal. Formed in 1999, the trio consisting of members Wroth (Paysage d'Hiver), Zorgh and Zhaaral delve into the cosmic themes of outer space and the vast emptiness within, crafting an immersive sonic landscape characterized by its relentless intensity and chilling atmospheres. Governed by an aesthetic of minimalism when it comes to their public presence, Darkspace's music speaks volumes where their words do not. The band has acquired a cult following within the extreme metal scene for their uncompromising artistic vision and their skillful combination of ambient industrial noises with the raw power of black metal.

Their discography, which includes the albums "Dark Space I" (2003), "Dark Space II" (2005), and "Dark Space III" (2008), showcases a chronological voyage into the depths of the void. As the Roman numerals suggest, each release builds upon the last, further refining their distinct blend of bleak, otherworldly soundscapes and dense, layered instrumentals. Following this series, the band released "Dark Space -I" in 2012, which revisits and reinterprets their debut EP "Dark Space I". Continuing their cosmic pilgrimage, Darkspace returned with "Dark Space III I" in 2014, an album that proves their enduring commitment to pushing the boundaries of their genre and perpetuating the cold, desolate and infinite themes that have become synonymous with their name. The meticulous attention to detail and the band's dedication to their thematic narrative has ensured that each album is not just a collection of songs but a gateway to an immersive aural experience for those who dare to delve into the darkness.
