Tantric is an American rock band that blends post-grunge and alternative rock with elements of other genres, such as nu metal and acoustic music, to create a distinct sound. Formed from the ashes of the band Days of the New, Tantric came into being in the year 1999. With the original lineup consisting of Hugo Ferreira as the lead vocalist, Todd Whitener on guitar, Jesse Vest on bass, and Matt Taul on drums, they immediately garnered attention with their self-titled debut album in 2001, particularly with the hit single "Breakdown."
Over the years, Tantric has undergone several lineup changes with Ferreira being the constant member. Despite these changes, the band has continued to produce music, maintaining its signature style while also exploring new sonic territories. Albums like "37 Channels" and "Blue Room Archives" showcase Tantric's versatility and willingness to incorporate varied influences into their music. Through consistent touring and recording, Tantric has established a dedicated fan base and remains a fixture in the rock music scene, with releases like "Mercury Retrograde" and "The Sum of All Things" further cementing their place in the genre.
