Born on September 5, 1922, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Ramito was renowned for his ability to inspire Puerto Rican national pride through his songs, which often touched on themes of love, country life, and social issues.
During his prolific career, Ramito, who was sometimes referred to as "El Cantor de la Montaña" (The Singer of the Mountain), recorded numerous albums that captured the essence of Puerto Rican country music.
