TrinityRoots

TrinityRoots is a celebrated band from New Zealand, known for its unique blend of roots, reggae, soul, and jazz. The group was formed in the late 1990s by Warren Maxwell (vocals, guitar, saxophone), Rio Hemopo (bass), and Rikki Gooch (drums), and they first garnered national acclaim with their self-titled EP "TrinityRoots" in 2000. This early release hinted at the deep, resonant soundscapes that would become the hallmark of their music, creating a strong foundation for their future endeavors.

Their first full-length album, "True" (2001), further established their significance on the New Zealand music scene, captivating audiences with its rich, spiritually grounded grooves and potent lyrical messages. Following up with "Home, Land and Sea" in 2004, the band continued to explore and consolidate their sound, earning critical and commercial success. TrinityRoots' music is characterized by its organic, enveloping sonic qualities and the members' shared commitment to their musical integrity. Over time, their influence has extended beyond their home shores, contributing significantly to the wider Pacific music culture. Although the band went through a hiatus, they regrouped and released "Citizen" in 2015 after a decade-long wait, providing fans with another dose of their evocative and soul-stirring artistry. The album "Music Is Choice," a live recording, showcases the band's dynamic performance capabilities and the intimate connection they establish with their audience. Despite the gaps between their releases, each body of work—including singles like "This Road" and "Haiku"—continues to affirm TrinityRoots' enduring impact on the fabric of New Zealand's musical landscape.
