Tony Kofi

Tony Kofi is a British jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. Born in Nottingham, England, in 1966, Kofi began playing the saxophone at the age of 14. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and went on to become a member of the Jazz Warriors, one of the most influential British jazz bands of the 1990s. Kofi has released several albums as a leader, including "Anima" (2015) and "Altera Vita" (2017), and has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, including Courtney Pine, Wynton Marsalis, and Pharoah Sanders. He is known for his soulful playing and his ability to blend traditional jazz with elements of funk, soul, and African music.
