Michael Banahan

Michael Banahan is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Roscommon, Ireland, who’s spent over thirty years deeply involved in the music scene—both as a performer and behind the scenes as a manager and promoter. Known for his work with the traditional/folk collective Rig The Jig, Michael has also released several solo albums, including *Liftin’ of the Latch*, *Tecumseh Valley*, and *The Baileys*, a collection of Irish ballads. His 2025 debut album of original songs, *Broken Heart*, marks a deeply personal milestone in his musical journey, blending heartfelt songwriting with his signature blend of folk and traditional influences. Michael’s music often reflects his rich life experiences, and his warm, authentic style has earned him a loyal following both in Ireland and across Europe and North America.
