Isabel Pine

Isabel Pine is a **classically trained violist, composer, and producer** from British Columbia whose music weaves together string textures, electronics, and field recordings to create immersive, nature-inspired soundscapes. After studying classical viola from age 3 through college, she eventually left her path as an ensemble performer, feeling creatively limited—but everything changed when she moved to British Columbia and discovered the raw beauty of the wilderness there. She began recording at home with a basic setup, capturing the sounds of nature alongside her strings, and eventually took her vision even further by moving into a remote cabin to record entirely in the natural environment, letting elements like rustling leaves and raven wings become integral parts of her compositions.

Her debut full-length album, *Fables*, released in February 2026 on the Kranky label, showcases pieces recorded in fall 2024 both inside her cabin and outdoors, creating what listeners describe as a series of stunning meditations that unfold like gentle waves. Her work blends ambient, classical, and experimental music, and has been featured on BBC Radio 3, KEXP, and Spotify's Classical New Releases playlists. With her meticulous attention to tone and texture, Pine creates music that feels both deeply introspective and connected to the natural world around her.
