Alban Claret

Alban Claret is a French jazz guitarist originally from Perpignan who studied at conservatoires in Montpellier and The Hague and relocated to London around 2018, where he’s become active on the UK jazz scene. He records and performs in small-group bebop/post-bop settings — notably co-leading a quintet/duo with Yorkshire trumpeter Evan Clegg and collaborating with UK guitarist Nigel Price — and appears on recent releases including Entente Cordiale (with Nigel Price) and The Collection (with Evan Clegg).

Claret began playing guitar at age eight and has performed widely in jazz clubs and festivals; his work is praised for its lyrical bebop-informed lines and strong group interplay, and he’s a regular contributor to ensembles such as Estraven as well as leader or co-leader projects in London’s jazz circuit.
