NGT48

NGT48 is a Japanese idol group formed in August 2015 as the third international sister group of AKB48, after Indonesia's JKT48 and China's SNH48. They are based in Niigata, and their name "NGT" stands for "Niigata." The group operates under the concept of "idols you can meet," and they perform regularly at their own theater in Niigata City. Since inception, they have been signed under AKS and later moved to Flora, which is part of the Sony Music Group.

Amidst a discography of various singles and albums, NGT48 has released several hits that have garnered attention within the Japanese music scene. Their music often includes a mix of pop tunes with a regional flavor, reflective of their Niigata origins. Key titles from their discography include "Maxとき315号," "Seishun Dokei," and "Haru wa Dokokara Kuru no ka?" which all have contributed to cementing their status as prominent figures in the idol group landscape of Japan. Notably, their works such as "Sherbet Pink" and the energetic "Awesome" showcase the group's versatility and growth over the years. Despite facing controversies and undergoing lineup changes, NGT48 has continued to innovate within the idol genre, captivating a dedicated fanbase with their music, performances, and distinct regional charm.
