Momi Maiga

Momi Maiga is a talented Senegalese musician, composer, and singer known for his mastery of the kora, a traditional West African harp. Born into the renowned Cissokho family of musicians, Momi was introduced to music at a young age and began playing the kora when he was just six years old. His music blends elements of jazz, flamenco, and European classical music with his rich Mandé cultural heritage. Momi's debut album, "Nio," released in late 2022, showcases his eclectic style and features collaborations with notable artists like Seckou Keita and Sílvia Pérez Cruz. The album's diverse sound reflects Momi's musical journey from Senegal to Europe, where he has gained recognition in Spain, Belgium, and France.

Momi Maiga continues to evolve as an artist, with his second album, "Kairo," meaning "peace" in Mandinka, his mother tongue. This new work further highlights his ability to blend traditional and contemporary styles, solidifying his position as one of the new masters of the West African harp. Currently based in Girona, Momi performs extensively across Europe, often accompanied by fellow musicians like his cousin Ibou Cissokho. His performances are a testament to his passion for music and his ability to connect with audiences through his unique sound.
