16Volt is an American industrial rock band founded by frontman Eric Powell in the early 1990s. Known for their aggressive blend of electronic programming and heavy guitars, 16Volt became a key player in the underground industrial scene. The band first gained attention with their 1993 debut album, Wisdom, released on Re-Constriction Records, and continued to build a loyal fanbase through gritty, high-energy releases like LetDownCrush and SuperCoolNothing in the late '90s.

After a brief hiatus, 16Volt re-emerged in the mid-2000s, signing with Metropolis Records and releasing albums like FullBlackHabit and AmericanPornSongs. These records showcased a more refined yet hard-hitting sound, merging industrial, rock, and electronic influences. Known for their raw energy both in the studio and on stage, 16Volt has remained a staple in the industrial rock world, continuing to evolve while staying true to their roots.
