Pages

Pages was an American rock-pop band, primarily active during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and is most notable for being the precursor to the band Mr. Mister. Formed in Los Angeles, California, the core members included Richard Page and Steve George, who later went on to achieve greater fame with Mr. Mister with hits like "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie." As Pages, they were known for their sophisticated pop-rock sound that melded melodic hooks with polished musicianship, which would later become a trademark in their subsequent project.

Their self-titled albums "Pages" (1978) and "Future Street" (1979) represent the band's foray into the music scene, showcasing a West Coast sound that featured elements of jazz fusion, rock, and blue-eyed soul. Although mainstream success eluded them during their active years, their music was highly regarded within music circles and has since been recognized for its craft and the foundational role it played in setting the stage for the duo's resurgence in the 1980s. The transition from Pages to Mr. Mister marked a stylistic evolution, but it is on these early albums that the roots of their later success can be clearly heard. Their final album, again self-titled "Pages" (1981), although often confused with their debut due to the same name, continued to demonstrate their evolving artistry and has sustained a cult following to this day.
