Valerie Coleman is a Grammy-nominated flutist, composer, and educator who has made significant contributions to the world of music. Born in New York City, she began playing the flute at the age of 10 and quickly developed a passion for the instrument. Coleman went on to study at the Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music, where she honed her skills as a performer and composer.
Throughout her career, Coleman has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She has also released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Songs for Our Times" and "American Vein." In addition to her work as a performer and composer, Coleman is also a dedicated educator. She has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the New England Conservatory of Music.
