Mark Viner

Mark Viner is a British concert pianist and recording artist known for his championing of Romantic and early modern piano repertoire, particularly the works of lesser-known composers. A specialist in the music of Charles-Valentin Alkan, Viner has gained international recognition for his technically dazzling and deeply expressive interpretations of this complex and virtuosic music. His discography includes numerous critically acclaimed recordings, including several world premiere recordings of rare Romantic piano works.

A graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, Viner has also become a key figure in the rediscovery of composers such as Sigismond Thalberg, Cécile Chaminade, and Felix Blumenfeld. In addition to his performing and recording career, he serves as the chairman of the Alkan Society, advocating for the appreciation and performance of Alkan's music.
