Robert Forster

Robert Forster is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with the band The Go-Betweens. Born in Brisbane in 1957, Forster formed The Go-Betweens with Grant McLennan in 1977. The band released a string of critically acclaimed albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including "16 Lovers Lane" and "Spring Hill Fair." After The Go-Betweens disbanded in 1990, Forster embarked on a solo career, releasing several albums and collaborating with other artists. He has also written two novels and a memoir. Forster's music is known for its literate lyrics, jangly guitars, and bittersweet melodies. He is considered one of the most influential figures in Australian rock music.
