Jorgen Misser Jensen

Jørgen "Misser" Jensen is a renowned Danish clarinetist and conductor. He began his musical career playing clarinet in the Tivoli Youth Garden and later became the solo clarinetist in the Copenhagen Philharmonic. In 1980, he transitioned to the position of alternating principal clarinet in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, where he remained until his retirement in 2012. Jensen is also notable for directing The Danish Concert Band since 1970, when the band was just three years old. Under his leadership, the band has achieved significant success, including winning Danish, Nordic, and European championships. Additionally, Jensen has taught at The Royal Danish Music Conservatory and continues to be active in musical circles, including performances with Collegium Musicum. His son, Magnus Koch Jensen, is also a talented musician, having played with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Jensen's work with The Danish Concert Band has led to numerous recordings and collaborations with international composers, showcasing his dedication to advancing wind band music. His contributions to the musical community are marked by his long-standing career as both a performer and educator.
