Burning Airlines was an American post-hardcore band that emerged from the ashes of Jawbox, a seminal figure in the 90s alternative rock scene. Formed in 1997 in Washington, D.C., the band was led by frontman and guitarist J. Robbins, who had been the driving force behind Jawbox, alongside bassist Bill Barbot and drummer Peter Moffett. With a name inspired by a Brian Eno song, Burning Airlines quickly distinguished themselves within the post-hardcore landscape with their intricate guitar work, off-kilter rhythms, and Robbins' compelling vocal delivery.
