Rae Spoon

Rae Spoon is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and author known for their genre-defying sound that blends elements of indie rock, folk, electronica, and country. With a career spanning over two decades, Spoon has built a reputation for thoughtful lyrics, innovative production, and a distinct voice in the Canadian music scene. They are also known for exploring themes of gender identity, mental health, and social justice in their music, drawing from their own experiences as a non-binary artist.

In addition to their musical work, Rae Spoon is a published author and co-founder of the independent record label Coax Records, which supports underrepresented voices in music. Their creative output includes a number of critically acclaimed albums and a memoir titled First Spring Grass Fire, which was shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award. Rae Spoon continues to be an influential figure in both the LGBTQ+ community and the broader Canadian arts landscape.
