Heather Tuach

Heather Tuach is a Canadian cellist with a rich musical background. She began her studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland and continued at McGill University in Montreal, where she earned a Master of Music degree. Additionally, she spent time at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland and later completed her Doctorate in Musical Arts at Stony Brook University in New York. Heather has been part of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet and has toured extensively across the UK, North America, Europe, and South Africa. She joined the Greenwich Trio in 2018, replacing Stjepan Hauser. Heather has made several notable recordings for labels such as Linn, Divine Art, Métier, and Hedone Records. Her performances include a Carnegie Hall recital debut in 2015 and collaborations with pianist Patil Harboyan. Recently, she has worked alongside pianist Yoko Misumi on albums featuring works by women composers.

Heather's musical journey highlights her versatility, from being a member of esteemed ensembles like the Fitzwilliam String Quartet to her current role in the Greenwich Trio. Her recent release, "In the Mirror," showcases her dedication to promoting music by women composers. Heather's cello, a Goffriller copy made by Yorkshire luthier Roger Hansell, is a testament to her dedication to her craft. Her performances and recordings reflect a deep passion for classical music and chamber music, particularly in collaborations with other talented musicians.
