Circus of Rock

Circus of Rock is a Finnish hard rock and heavy metal band led by drummer Mirka "Leka" Rantanen, a veteran musician with over 35 years in the scene and a career spanning more than 40 albums with various acts. The band started as a solo project featuring numerous guest singers and musicians from notable bands like Amaranthe, Nightwish, and Stratovarius. Their debut album, "Come One, Come All," dropped in 2021, followed by "Lost Behind the Mask" in 2023, continuing the tradition of collaborations with artists from around the metal and rock world.

In 2024, Circus of Rock evolved into a full-fledged band with a stable lineup, including Mark Boals (known for his work with Yngwie Malmsteen and Ted Nugent) on vocals, along with Samuli Federley and Vesa Virtanen on guitars, Jari Pailamo on keyboards, JJ Hjelt on bass, and Mirka Rantanen on drums. This shift was aimed at securing more gigs and creating a consistent live presence, with their third album expected to release in mid-2025. Circus of Rock blends melodic hard rock with powerful vocals and musicianship, bringing a fresh energy to the Finnish rock scene while paying homage to classic heavy metal roots.
