The Histronic

The Histronic is an electronic music and livetronica band based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The group currently consists of Mike Moilanen, who handles guitar and DJ duties, and Kevin Dorsey, who plays keyboards and also DJs. Dorsey is a founding member and a graduate of the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. He also owns a recording studio in Plymouth, Minnesota, called Milkhouse Productions. Moilanen is well-known in the Minneapolis house music scene, often performing as a resident DJ at the 414 Soundbar club. The Histronic has played at various festivals and has shared stages with notable acts like EOTO, Lotus, and George Clinton and P Funk. Their music style blends house, deep house, tech house, techno, breakbeat, dubstep, and nu disco, often incorporating instruments like analog synthesizers and guitars into their performances.

The Histronic has released several albums, including their self-titled debut in 2008, along with "Live Cuts Volume One" and "Live Cuts Volume Two." Their music has been praised for its energetic and engaging live performances, which often feature a dynamic mix of electronic beats and live instrumentation. Despite their evolution from a trio to a duo, The Histronic continues to be a significant part of the Minneapolis electronic music scene.
